Dr. William Wicker Veterinarian
Dr. Wicker was born and grew up in Sanford, N.C. From an early age, it was obvious that a love of animals and science would lead him to one day become a veterinarian.
After high school he attended North Carolina State University where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Zoology in 1980. Next he attended Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine, receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1984. Having spent many summer vacations in his mother's home state of Florida, after graduation Dr. Wicker headed to Brandon, FL to begin practice.
After discovering Plant City, a small town much like the one he grew up in, he decided it was the type of place in which he would like to start a practice and raise a family. He founded Plant City Animal Hospital in 1988. Dr. Wicker, his wife and 2 daughters enjoy calling Plant City home. When not at work, Dr. Wicker enjoys photography, woodworking, and music. He sings in the First United Methodist Church choir and is an active member and past-president of the Plant City Rotary Club. Dr. Wicker enjoys many aspects of small animal practice, but highest on the list is being able to improve the human-animal bond.
"Animals provide so much to improve the quality of our lives and ask for so little in return. We really enjoy improving the quality of people's lives by helping them keep their pets healthy and happy!"
